Grade 8 is the highest grade offering of the SAE J429 classification with a minimum tensile strength exceeding that of Gr.5 by 25% to over 40%, depending on the diameter. Grade 8 HHCS are commonly used in heavy construction equipment, commercial vehicles and applications that demand a high strength fastener. Hex Head Cap screws feature an integral washer face under the head for a smooth bearing surface and a chamfered thread at the tip to allow for ease of assembly.
